This unusual wall hanging is made from a real, used beehive frame taken from our apiary on the North Downs in Surrey. Still covered in genuine beeswax honeycomb and natural propolis, each frame tells the story of a working hive — wild, textured, and shaped entirely by the bees themselves 🧡

– A tiny glass vial of real bee pollen, collected from the bottom of our hives, is attached to one side of the frame for extra detail 🌾

– Hung with a loop of natural jute twine 🪢

– Each wax comb pattern is unique — some have darker cells, open patches, or irregular structure

We’ve been keeping bees at Hanging Wood for over 40 years using low-impact, cruelty-free practices.

– We never clip queen wings or replace queens artificially

– We don’t treat hives with synthetic chemicals

– Our wax is made purely from the bees' own honey, without contamination or artificial foundation

This means every frame is clean, natural, and entirely handmade by the bees — we simply preserve it for display 💛
